what made you like Tempest better than some other games (especially the ones people hold in high regard)?
in the end my attachment is always story based and completely subjective. (holds up the cast) i just like them! they’re neat!!! lukius bridges is one of the characters of all time, etc.
but! i do have. another reason, actually. tempest is VERY experimental in some ways and i love the amount of heart you can see in it because of that. the dev team was trying so hard and tried so many interesting ideas, and many of them AREN’T GOOD but like. they tried! they wanted to do something new! it’s interesting! and i cant help but be endeared by that, or wonder what a more fleshed-out implementation of some of these ideas might look like, because some of them aren’t even bad, they’re just badly implemented. (like comboing artes into each other in set ways to create a third arte, or limiting the amount of artes your npc party members can have enabled… are these good ideas? shrugs. they’re INTERESTING, thats for sure.)

i DO have it in my rss reader but thats because i experienced having crestoria, link, and rays in my rss reader and seeing random mass-tagged fics go through all 3 of those tags at once made me want to throw a rock at the people tagging their shit that way
mostly i maintain that the crossover filter just needs two modes though, any other series tag and "series tags that share a meta tag only"

1. its a fictional character. it doesnt have feelings or a will of its own.
2. this is how you get people saying misella would be a good character if only (list of changes that would make misella an entirely different and very boring character)

like i honestly have some qualms about how clean and neat rays' ending is; not because its a work that shouldnt have a happy ending, but its all too neat and arbitrary. (though the epilogues at least dig into stuff that isnt covered by [redacted] fixed everything btw. which is nice! thank you)
