my inability to sit down and read anything aside, ive been thinking about how them not being clingy is actually a lot cuter? because it makes all of the time they do spend together feel a lot more... purposeful? & it lends to the feeling that they trust each other...

its so easy to make the leap from "canonically share a bedroom and sleep in the same space even on a random boat" to "nothing in the teifes event story indicated there were two beds, you know" lol <-- biased
though, a friend pointed out that they probably did that when kocis was small just bc it would be unreasonable to do anything other than share a bedroom (i am picturing same bed again but honestly the alternatives are: 1. kocis sleeping on a hard surface (:c) 2. custom tiny bed just for kocis (lol?), 3. kocis just returns to ix's heart (we know thats never happened for a fact) so... probably same bed?)
the asty event implied kocis had his own bedroom but honestly if thats the case i wonder when that happened lol... ix was gone when he got big...? so theres no real reason to move out of his bedroom... maybe between arcs 2 and 3...
honestly i think the implication here that they made up and then nearly immediately starting sharing a bedroom (again?) is really funny. i think its actually just a continuity error tho (forgot that line was in the asty event)
i think the idea of it having been the whole time is fun though, because it provides wonderful opportunities to make the arc 4 pining ✨ Worse ✨

honestly the way their relationship is sort of hard to define is a big part of why i like them...
(the other big part is that im a sucker for a well done fight between people who genuinely really care about each other... especially since the conflict started /because/ they both care... (also the resultant absurd pining for an entire story arc was fun, genuinely lol))
I don’t like labeling them as “father and son” or “brothers” because it’s forcing their relationship into an arbitrary shape that doesn’t suit it, but Kocis and Ix really do feel like family. Since their love is pretty unconditional and they have a sort of innate bond… it’s cute…
the emotional payoff of them reconciling has unfortunately managed to dedicate a small part of my brain to thinking about them Way Too Much.
honestly i think the difficulty in labeling how they feel about each other is part of the appeal. also it makes sense since they /do/ have a type of relation to each other that Very Much Does Not Exist IRL lol... i guess in some way part of this is me saying with my whole chest 'actually mirrite&mirrist is a distinct type of family relationship'-- just one that only exists in this specific fictional setting lmao

theres so much fun stuff with the mirrites and thats the real thing im playing rays for-- (but i also like that the way they "redeemed" most of the villains is just domesticating them)
