hot take: a version of the eizen sidequest where you somehow manage to turn him back would, if well-written, be more depressing than what we actually get in zesty :)
because he's already done shit hed regret while not under control of his mind AND it's inevitable it'll happen again if he lives life how he actually wants to :)

LIKE. we do SOMETIMES get into it with eizen but he dealt with all of it pre-canon and now he's just a slightly sulky pirate
